Philippine Airlines renews FHS support deal for entire Airbus fleet.

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has reinforced its long-standing collaboration with Airbus through a renewed and expanded Flight Hour Services (FHS) agreement, now covering the carrier’s entire Airbus fleet. The comprehensive contract includes support for nine A350-1000s, 11 A330 Family aircraft, and 43 A320 Family jets, significantly broadening the scope of their existing partnership.

Under the terms of the extended agreement, Airbus will deliver a full suite of component support services, including standard exchange programs, component repairs, reliability monitoring, and engineering services. Additionally, Airbus will maintain on-site stock at PAL’s primary hub in Manila, ensuring rapid access to critical parts and minimizing aircraft downtime. The integrated support model is structured to boost fleet availability, reinforce operational consistency, and provide PAL with greater cost predictability over the long term.

The partnership between Airbus FHS and Philippine Airlines dates back to 2018, when an initial contract was established to support the airline’s A350-900 fleet. Following the successful implementation of that agreement, the collaboration was extended in 2022 to include PAL’s A320 and A330 fleets. The latest expansion now unifies all three aircraft families under a single, streamlined FHS arrangement—underscoring the airline’s enduring trust in Airbus’ maintenance solutions.

Anand Stanley, President of Airbus Asia-Pacific, highlighted the significance of the renewed commitment. “We thank Philippine Airlines for extending its Flight Hour Services agreements across its entire Airbus fleet to cover the A350, A330 Family and A320 Family. This demonstrates the strength of our long-standing partnership and our shared commitment to operational excellence,” he said. “By delivering comprehensive component support and on-site services in Manila, we are helping PAL optimise fleet performance while benefiting from predictable, long-term maintenance costs.”

Airbus FHS is recognized globally as a leader in Power-by-the-Hour component support, particularly for A330 and A350 material services. The program leverages Airbus’ extensive engineering knowledge, digital tools, and data-driven analytics to help airlines enhance efficiency and reliability while controlling operating expenses. For PAL, the extended agreement represents a strategic move to sustain high operational standards across its expanding fleet, ensuring that its passengers continue to experience dependable and timely service.

As PAL advances its post-pandemic recovery and growth trajectory, the reinforced partnership with Airbus provides a solid foundation for long-term fleet management—one built on innovation, mutual trust, and a shared vision for aviation excellence.
