HENSOLDT has been contracted by the German Federal Police to supply highly mobile counter-unmanned aircraft systems (c-UAS) vehicles, enhancing protection against drone threats at airports, critical infrastructure sites, and major events.
The self-sufficient, rapidly deployable vehicles significantly expand the police force’s ability to detect, verify, and defend against drones that may pose intentional or negligent risks. Each vehicle features an operator station and integrates various mission-specific sensors and effectors—some built into the vehicle and others deployable externally for maximum protection.
At the core of the system is HENSOLDT’s Elysion Mission Core software, proven in numerous real-world missions. It fuses all sensor data in real time, delivering a comprehensive situational picture that enables fast, agile threat response. Elysion can also access data from other networked systems via capable interfaces to secure the airspace as needed.
As the general contractor, HENSOLDT’s c-UAS team oversees integration of the IT, Elysion software, sensors, and effectors into the vehicles, with a specialized partner handling assembly per police specifications. The new capabilities will roll out later this year, significantly strengthening internal security.
This project underscores HENSOLDT’s ability to deliver tailored c-UAS solutions for highly mobile applications, reinforcing its role as a reliable partner for pioneering multi-sensor, multi-effector drone defense systems.
