New Anduril Effects system informs, expands Apache missions for US Army.

by Editorial Staff

Last month at Yuma Proving Ground during CFWE26, an AH-64E Apache executed the first-ever rocket-powered launch of Altius 700, a launched effect. The event, led by DEVCOM AvMC aviators, paired Apache maneuverability with Altius-700’s extended range to boost situational awareness and combat strike capabilities. Anduril and DEVCOM AvMC continue integrating launched effects onto Army rotorcraft, with Altius 700 as the testbed for a new universal launch system enabling low-altitude launches. This Apache milestone follows September 2025 launches of Altius 700 from a UH-60 Blackhawk. The successful manned-unmanned teaming applies to Blackhawk support and rescue missions and Apache armed reconnaissance and anti-artillery roles, giving Army leaders rapidly deployable autonomous tools. Close industry collaboration is advancing the Army’s launched effects vision of attritable, mass-integrated autonomous assets. Altius-700, building on Altius-600 launches from Blackhawks since 2020, provides greater range, loiter time, and payload capacity for Army aviators.
