Peraton has secured a five-year, $196 million contract to operate and defend the U.S. Army’s Global Cyber Center (GCC), the service’s central hub for worldwide cyber operations. The award from the Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) tasks the company with consolidating and streamlining defensive cyber operations for one of the world’s largest and most complex information networks.
Under the contract, Peraton will assume responsibility for the 24/7 operation and security of the Army’s critical network environments, including both the unclassified NIPRNet and the classified SIPRNet. This comprehensive mission includes sustaining enterprise-level infrastructure, managing a vast array of software and hardware applications, and defending hundreds of thousands of user systems across the global Army enterprise. The work also encompasses support for key operational nodes like the GCC Point of Presence in Southwest Asia and positions the Army for future mission expansion.
“This work is fundamentally about enabling mission readiness and delivering resilient, real-time cyber capabilities to the warfighter,” said Tom Afferton, president of Peraton’s Cyber Mission sector. “We are honored to support NETCOM as they protect the Army’s digital frontlines.”
The GCC, under NETCOM, serves as the Army’s premier cyber command post, coordinating with Regional Cyber Centers to provide global mission command and unified network defense. Peraton’s role will be to manage and secure the Army’s portion of the Department of Defense Information Network (DoDIN), ensuring a secure and responsive cyber environment amid evolving threats.
Peraton brings over a decade of direct experience supporting Army cyberspace initiatives, having partnered with NETCOM and Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER) since 2012. This contract reinforces the company’s deep commitment to the Army’s digital modernization and national security, leveraging strong public-private partnerships to help ensure U.S. military forces remain agile and secure in cyberspace.
