EPCOR and Norse Atlantic Forge New Maintenance Partnership for Boeing 787 Fleet

by Editorial Staff

In a significant move set to enhance its operational backbone, Norse Atlantic Airways has entered into a long-term comprehensive maintenance agreement with EPCOR BV for its fleet of twelve Boeing 787 Dreamliners. The landmark partnership, officially signed at the MRO Europe 2025 event, focuses specifically on the support and upkeep of the aircrafts’ APS5000 Auxiliary Power Units (APUs).

This collaboration marks the first time the two companies have worked together, establishing a new framework for technical support for the Norwegian low-cost, long-haul carrier. Under the new contract, EPCOR will assume full responsibility for the repair and maintenance of the APS5000 units across Norse Atlantic’s entire Dreamliner fleet.

The strategic alliance is poised to deliver substantial benefits for the airline. By leveraging EPCOR’s specialized expertise, Norse Atlantic aims to achieve a higher level of operational reliability and reduce aircraft downtime. Furthermore, the long-term nature of the agreement provides greater predictability in managing maintenance budgets, a critical factor for the airline’s growth strategy and competitive pricing model.

Rob van de Graaf, Commercial Director at EPCOR, commented on the partnership, stating, “We are proud to support Norse Atlantic Airways with our specialized, flexible and high-quality maintenance solutions. Our technical expertise is a strong match for their innovative approach, and we are committed to contributing to their fleet performance and expansion goals.”

For Norse Atlantic, the agreement is a direct investment in service consistency and operational efficiency. Ahmad Abu Nima, VP of Technical Operations at the airline, emphasized that EPCOR’s proven capabilities with the APS5000 were a key deciding factor. He noted that the partnership will help ensure their 787s operate at peak performance, directly supporting the airline’s commitment to reliable and environmentally conscious travel.

The partnership also underscores a shared focus on sustainability. By optimizing the lifespan of APU components and minimizing waste through expert maintenance, the agreement actively supports Norse Atlantic’s broader environmental objectives, setting a responsible precedent within the low-cost long-haul sector.
