TrueNoord supplies Breeze Airways with three brand-new Airbus aircraft.

Aircraft leasing specialist TrueNoord has completed the delivery of three factory-new Airbus A220-300 aircraft to Breeze Airways. The transaction, structured as a long-term sale-and-leaseback, concluded in February 2026. It represents a significant milestone for the lessor, marking its first-ever investment in Airbus aircraft and the largest jet type added to its portfolio to date.

The deal directly supports Breeze Airways’ strategy to standardize its fleet around the efficient A220 model. TrueNoord’s Sales Director for the Americas, Maarten Grift, explained that the aircraft’s economics enable Breeze to open new routes between underserved Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities—markets that are often too thin for larger aircraft. This focus on right-sizing capacity is increasingly common as airlines modernize their fleets to reduce costs and emissions.

Breeze CFO Trent Porter welcomed the new aircraft, stating that strong partnerships are key to the airline’s ability to serve its growing network of 86 destinations. On the financial side, TrueNoord’s Paul Murphy noted that the acquisition reflects a disciplined investment strategy, adding resilient assets that deliver value for both the lessor and its airline customers.

TrueNoord CEO Anne-Bart Tieleman confirmed that the A220 deliveries align with the company’s focus on the 100-150 seat segment, complementing its existing Embraer E2 commitments. He described the move as a clear signal of the company’s growth momentum heading into the future. By equipping innovative carriers with advanced, fuel-efficient aircraft, TrueNoord is strengthening its position in the regional aviation market and setting the stage for continued expansion in 2026 and beyond.
