Honeywell, Abu Dhabi Aviation Sign Deal to Streamline AW139 Avionics MRO

by Editorial Staff

Honeywell and Abu Dhabi Aviation (ADA) have entered a multi-year agreement to simplify and expedite the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) process for AW139 helicopters equipped with Honeywell’s Primus Epic avionics. The partnership establishes a new, streamlined logistics model for operators in the UAE and surrounding regions.

Previously, operators sent components directly to Honeywell facilities. Under this new agreement, ADA will manage the complete MRO logistics chain—selecting the optimal Honeywell repair center, handling shipping, and tracking repairs through completion. This integrated approach is designed to reduce complexity, accelerate turnaround times, and minimize aircraft downtime while Honeywell guarantees repair quality through its global network.

Mike Vallillo, Vice President of Defense and Space International at Honeywell Aerospace Technologies, stated the deal reflects a strong collaboration aimed at easing the logistical burden for customers and making critical repairs simpler and faster.

The AW139 is a prevalent platform in the Middle East and Africa for military, civil, and oil & gas operations. This enhanced support model directly aims to increase fleet readiness for these critical sectors. The agreement extends until 2029, building on a decade of collaboration to expand MRO capabilities across the region.
