Lufthansa Technik to support Royal Jordanian’s component operations.

by Editorial Staff

In a significant expansion of their long-standing partnership, Lufthansa Technik and Royal Jordanian Airlines have signed a new agreement to provide comprehensive component support for the carrier’s incoming fleet of Airbus A320neo family aircraft. The contract was formalized at the Dubai Airshow.

Building on existing Total Component Support (TCS) agreements for Royal Jordanian’s older A320ceo models, this new twelve-year pact covers 20 new A320neo and A321neo aircraft. These modern, fuel-efficient jets are gradually replacing their predecessors in the airline’s operations as part of a major fleet modernization strategy.

The agreement ensures Royal Jordanian will have seamless access to Lufthansa Technik’s global network of spare parts. Services include full maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) for components, access to a shared parts pool, and round-the-clock support to minimize downtime if an aircraft is grounded. To further enhance efficiency, Lufthansa Technik will establish a localized “home base pool” of critical parts at Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport, accelerating availability for the airline.

Samer Majali, Royal Jordanian’s Vice Chairman and CEO, emphasized the partnership’s strategic importance. “This collaboration strengthens our operational foundation and is a key enabler of our fleet modernization,” he stated. “Ensuring the highest technical reliability as we transition to the neo fleet is essential for our growth and sustainability goals.”

Kai-Stefan Roepke, Lufthansa Technik’s Vice President of Corporate Sales for the region, thanked the airline for its continued trust. “This not only writes the next chapter in our relationship but provides Royal Jordanian with the utmost reliability and flexibility during this critical fleet transition,” he said. He noted that the deal builds on the company’s extensive expertise, having recently celebrated support for its 3,000th A320 family aircraft.

The partnership secures vital operational stability for Royal Jordanian as it upgrades its narrow-body fleet, aiming for improved reliability, cost efficiency, and a more sustainable service for its passengers.
