Fokker Services Group (FSG) has launched a new active defense system to protect civil aircraft from the rising threat of GPS jamming and spoofing. Unveiled at the Dubai Airshow 2025, the solution provides proactive, full-spectrum countermeasures to ensure navigation integrity.
The technology marks a significant evolution in airborne security. While many current systems only detect interference, FSG’s offering actively neutralizes jamming and spoofing attempts. This ensures continuous, reliable GPS signals for critical avionics, maintaining flight safety and reducing pilot workload during interference events.
CEO Menzo van der Beek emphasized the development’s urgency: “We’ve engineered a direct response to a clear and present danger. Our solution moves beyond alerting crews to a problem—it solves the problem in real-time, which is a pivotal step for operational security.”
The system is designed for straightforward adoption. It requires no additional pilot training and is delivered as a complete modification kit, facilitating seamless integration with existing flight deck systems and procedures without disrupting standard operations.
With successful testing completed, the solution is scheduled for entry into service in January 2026, with initial launch operators already lined up. The introduction is timely, as incidents of GPS interference have surged in regions like the Middle East and Eastern Europe, disrupting essential systems from the Flight Management System (FMS) to collision avoidance tools like TCAS and EGPWS.
FSG’s innovation provides a critical additional layer of protection, complementing industry and regulatory efforts to safeguard global airspace. By ensuring uncompromised GPS functionality, the solution aims to restore confidence for airlines and crews operating in increasingly contested navigation environments.
