Radia, developer of the world’s largest cargo aircraft WindRunner™, has entered a strategic collaboration with Atitech, a leading independent MRO provider in the EMEA region. A newly signed Memorandum of Understanding outlines joint pursuits in maintenance, repair, overhaul (MRO), engineering services, and support for Radia’s Final Assembly Line.

This partnership significantly extends Radia’s global industrial network, underscoring its strategy to align with top-tier aerospace specialists for the aircraft’s entire lifecycle. Atitech’s renowned technical expertise and extensive maintenance capabilities will be crucial in ensuring the operational readiness and reliability of the WindRunner fleet for its specialized, outsized cargo missions.

Atitech now joins Radia’s expanding roster of European partners, which includes Leonardo, MA Group, Aciturri, and Aeronnova Aerospace. This collaborative ecosystem is integral to the design, production, and future operational support of WindRunner, solidifying a robust European industrial foundation for the program.

“Atitech exemplifies European aerospace excellence with its technical precision and global standards,” said Giuseppe Giordo, President and CEO of Radia’s Italian Operations. “Their proven track record in maintaining complex fleets directly supports our mission to guarantee WindRunner’s availability for critical commercial, defense, and humanitarian operations worldwide.”

Gianni Lettieri, Chairman and CEO of Atitech, stated, “We are proud to partner with Radia on this transformative program. This alliance combines our shared commitment to innovation and engineering, allowing Atitech to contribute to the development and sustainment of a revolutionary air transport class vital for the global energy transition. We are particularly pleased that this pioneering aircraft will be fully built, certified, and delivered from Southern Italy.”

The WindRunner is designed to transport outsized cargo, such as wind turbine blades, directly to remote project sites, enabling new logistics paradigms for the renewable energy sector and beyond. The collaboration with Atitech marks a key step in establishing the comprehensive support infrastructure required for the aircraft’s global service entry.
